Gold Digger rock The Cavendish
Great gig last night at The Cavendish Arms in Stockwell. Yes, the very town where the British cops gunned down the innocent Jean Charles de Menezes ‘cos they thought he was a terrorist (he had a rucksack on – duh!). It was also the scene of yet another of London’s many stabbings this week and when we arrived for sound-check, the forensic police were still picking through people’s gardens and dustbins looking for the murder weapon. Just up the road were ”Stop! Police Crime Scene” cordons. Nice area!
Anyway, The Cavendish Arms is a really cool, intimate venue – a bit off the beaten track but well worth getting to. And we had a cracking gig, performing in front of a packed room with people almost falling onto the stage! Plus, the guys behind the bar even gave us a lock-in after we played, hence I am typing on this keyboard the morning after with a massive hangover. Ug…
