Ah, YouTube can be a wonderful thing. I’ve been watching episodes of the Larry Sanders Show and remembering what a great piece of TV it was. Ahead of it’s time, comedy-wise. I read a comment recently where somebody compared it to Ricky Gervais’ The Office and re-watching it now I can certainly see the similarities. It’s the same type of dead-pan, dark humour. Brilliant stuff. Check out this fantastic episode (in 3 parts) which really captures the essence of the series. TV show host Larry hits the headlines when he ‘accidentally’ shoves a lady into a display stand at supermarket, then the story spreads worldwide when the store’s CCTV footage is shown. Spot on satire. Enjoy:

Larry (to injured woman): “As a sorta token of my, er, apology I’d like you to accept, from me to you…..a beautiful, brand new refridgerator freezer…..I’m so happy to have you here, Carol. There’s nothing more important than one’s human dignity and I hope you will accept this.”
